Singapore Airlines acquires 5 Boeing 777F from DHL

On 10th of March 2022, Singapore Airlines, together with DHL Express, have signed an agreement of 5 Boeing B777F for a Crew and Maintenance agreement (CM) to deploy 5 Boeing 777F freighter to support Singapore Airlines strong demand of cargo services. Mr. Travis Cobb, Executive Vice President of DHL Express said “With the deployment of 5 Boeing 777 Freighters, we can expand our express service linking the Asia Pacific region with the Americas. Following the pandemic, we see good prospects for strong growth in trans-Pacific trade lanes. By collaborating with Singapore Airlines, we see a unique chance to establish a long-lasting relationship with a long-time partner who shares common values and operates at the highest standard.”

These 5 aircrafts will be based in Changi Airport, WSSS and will assist DHL with the South Asia Hub, with the aircrafts flown by Singapore Airlines Pilots to the United States of America via the different points in North Asia.

The agreement signed is set to be more than four years, with the opportunity for a possible extension. Inside the agreement, the first aircraft delivery will commence this year in the month of July, with the second aircraft to arrive in Singapore in October 2022. The remaining three aircrafts will arrive in Singapore throughout 2023. Currently, DHL is operating over 320 aircrafts globally. The Boeing 777F freighter are the world’s longest and largest range with the most capable twin-engine freighter that will contribute DHL with their sustainability goals to reduce the CO2 emission by 18% as compared to the Boeing 747-400 Freighter.
Similarly, DHL have secured a firm order of additional 6 Boeing 777F on the 8th of March 2022 taking a total count of 28 777F in their fleet. Up till date, DHL have taken in a total of 15 Boeing 777F.
