Singapore based low cost carrier, Scoot, launched a new route on 1st August 2022. The route takes passengers directly to Tokyo, Japan from Singapore Changi Airport.

Back before the launch of the direct flight, the only flights to Tokyo by Scoot were TR898 and TR899. TR898 and TR899 flies from Singapore Changi Airport to Tokyo Narita Airport, with a stopover in Taipei Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan. Here are the information of TR898 and TR899.

The current TR898 and TR899 is a 4 times weekly flight that is flown by Scoot's Airbus A320 NEO. In the past, the flights was operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Although still a 4 times weekly flight, TR898 and TR899 used to operate on Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday based on historical data.

TR808 and TR809 also fly from Singapore Changi Airport to Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan. However, the flights does not make a stopover in Taiwan. The flights will also be operated daily by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Here are the information of TR808 and TR809.

The direct flight between Singapore and Tokyo means that passengers now arrive into both airport much earlier as compared to the flights with a stopover in Taiwan. At the same time, with TR808 and TR809 offering daily flights, passengers now have more days to choose from for their flights, from the 4 flights weekly on TR898 and TR899 to daily flights on TR808 and TR809.

Pokémon Jet
What started as a game soon became one of the many popular icons representing Japan. This year, Pokémon will be celebrating their 20th anniversary, whereas Scoot will be celebrating their 10th anniversary. Many places are commemorating this special milestone and Scoot is also joining on the bandwagon.

A few Japanese carriers such as All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, and Skymark Airlines had previously painted their aircraft(s) in a Pokémon themed livery. Scoot is no exception.

9V-OJJ, one of the few Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in Scoot's fleet was also painted with a Pokémon themed livery. Previously named "Holiyear" and wearing the iconic Yellow Scoot livery, she is now renamed as the "Pikachu Jet" and decked in the Pokémon livery. Along with the interior being fitted with a Pokémon theme, Pokémon merchandises will also be available.

For those who wish to fly on her, here is your chance. Pikachu Jet is scheduled for her first flight on the SIN to NRT sector on 9th September 2022, as TR809 and TR808. She is also scheduled for Seoul on 22nd September 2022.
