Painted in the iconic Airbus livery, F-WMIL makes her appearance into the little red dot as she approaches into Singapore Changi Airport runway 02L. The Airbus A350-1000 XWB aircraft was in for the bi-annual SAS2022, which will run from 15 to 18 Feb this year.

The aircraft which is used by Airbus as a test bed for the A350 program left Toulouse on 10th Feb 2022, at 1849hr (CET) and landing into Changi Airport on 11th Feb, at 1445hrs (SGT) after a 12hr and 56min flight.

The Airbus A350-1000XWB is the largest aircraft by far in the whole A350 family with the length of 73.79m and a wingspan of 64.75m. The A350-1000 has a maximum range of up to 8,700nm.

With a fuselage that is seven meter longer than the Airbus A350-900, the Airbus A350-1000 features modified wing trailing-edges and larger six-wheel main landing gear, whilst keeping the Airbus A350 Family’s airframe design. The Airbus A350-1000 is powered by the world’s most efficient large aero-engine, the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB which burns 25% less fuel and CO2 emissions per seat thus reducing the carbon footprint being created.

This are just some of the airlines which operates or have orders placed on the Airbus A350-1000.

Air Caraibes - 4 on order, with 2 delivered and in operations

Air Lease Corporation - 10 on order, with 2 delivered

Asiana Airlines - 8 on order British Airways - 18 on order, with 8 delivered and in operations Cathay Pacific - 18 on order, with 15 delivered and in operations Etihad Airlines - 20 on order, with 5 delivered and in operations Qatar Airways - 42 on order, with 19 delivered and in operations Starlux - 8 on order

Virgin Atlantic - 8 on order, with 5 delivered and 7 in operations

We can see that even though not many airlines have purchased the Airbus A350-1000XWB variant, there is still a demand for this aircraft and that we are able to see that Airbus would not be stopping or slowing down the production any time soon.
